Liberius welcomes two new partners in Brussels

Liberius is delighted to announce the appointment of Gilles Bropsom and Jean-Marc Meilleur as partners in its Brussels office, further strengthening the firm’s expertise in investment funds, private capital and dispute resolution.

Gilles Bropsom, a Luxembourg native admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 2012, will lead Liberius’ Luxembourg Desk. He advises asset managers, sponsors and investors on the structuring, implementation and management of private funds, whether regulated or unregulated, semi-liquid or illiquid, closed-ended or evergreen. Gilles has in-depth knowledge of Luxembourg and EU regimes such as AIFs, RAIFs, SIFs, SICARs, ELTIFs and EuVECAs, and regularly contributes to industry initiatives through his involvement in ALFI working groups. He holds a Master’s degree in Private Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and an LL.M. from King’s College London.

Jean-Marc Meilleur brings decades of experience to Liberius’ dispute resolution practice. A former Prosecutor of the King in Brussels, corporate legal counsel and magistrate, Jean-Marc combines profound legal expertise with strategic insight. His practice covers white-collar crime and criminal law, compliance and corporate law, and civil and commercial litigation. He is also recognised for his ability to guide businesses, CEOs, public institutions and SMEs through moments of crisis, providing clarity, continuity and resilience.

Commenting on their appointments, Gilles said: “I am excited to join Liberius. The firm’s collaborative culture and international outlook perfectly reflect the way I approach client service.”

Jean-Marc added: “When legal or reputational pressure mounts, clients need not only technical advice but also courage and strategic clarity. I am pleased to bring that approach to Liberius.”

Liberius’ managing partner, Diederik Van Lede, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Gilles and Jean-Marc to the partnership. Both bring top-tier expertise, sharp insight and a collaborative spirit that perfectly match our firm’s culture. With their arrival, we significantly enhance our capabilities in investment funds and dispute resolution, while strengthening our position as a trusted, full-service advisor to international clients facing complex challenges.”

With these appointments, Liberius reinforces its commitment to delivering first-class legal advice across key practice areas, combining technical excellence with pragmatic, business-oriented solutions for an international client base.
